Library Employment - Job Openings

TEMPORARY TEEN DEPARTMENT ASSISTANT:

Grant-funded position comprising of up to 280 hours —includes daytime, evening and weekend hours. Two years of college or equivalent experience necessary. Must enjoy working with teens and their parents, have excellent customer service skills, strong computer skills, and a love of literature. Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task. Library experience is not required, but enthusiasm and creativity are a must, along with a cheerful, personable demeanor.

Bulk of shifts are spent standing/walking. Duties include assisting patrons locate materials in the library, planning and presenting teen programs, creating promotional and departmental documents, providing book suggestions, answering phones, and straightening and shelving materials.

The schedule requires flexibility, with the hours varying week-to-week. If you have schedule restrictions, include a detailed explanation on or with your application.

Starting pay is $8.50 per hour. This is a temporary position comprising of 280 total hours that will end on or before August 6, 2016.
