Coming Up: Programs for Teens

Tuesday, August 5th

  • 6:00 PM - YAAC Meeting
For anyone in grades 6 - 12 The Young Adult Advisory Council (YAAC)'s primary job is to help the Teen Library make the library a fun place for teens. We meet each month to talk about books, programs and activities, and other whatnot. We also eat pizza. You must be a member of the YAAC to attend meetings, but membership is easy. Applications are in the Teen Department.

Saturday, August 16th

  • 1:00 PM - Lunch Bunch Teen Book Club
For teens in grades 6-12* Each month we'll read a book nominated for either the Gateway Readers Award, the Truman Readers Award or the Teens' Top Ten Award. Teens should bring their own lunch to each meeting, but we'll have drinks and dessert. Thanks to a generous donation from the Freeman R. Johnson Trust, the first 7 - 10 teens at each meeting will get a free copy of the next month's book. No registration needed. *The Gateway Readers Award nominees are recommended for teens in grades 9 - 12. Readers should be advised that this recommendation is based on maturity level, not reading level.
