Coming Up: Programs for Teens
Tuesday, March 11th
- 6:00 PM - 2nd Tuesday Teen Night
For teens in grades 6-12 Join us for a different event each month. There will be snacks (and sometimes prizes)! In March, we'll create everything from jewelry to magnets to who knows what using metal bottle caps.
Saturday, March 15th
- 1:00 PM - Lunch Bunch Teen Book Club
For teens in grades 6-12* Each month we'll read a book nominated for either the Gateway Readers Award, the Truman Readers Award or the Teens' Top Ten Award. Teens should bring their own lunch to each meeting, but we'll have drinks and dessert. Thanks to a generous donation from the Freeman R. Johnson Trust, the first 7 - 10 teens at each meeting will get a free copy of the next month's book. No registration needed. *The Gateway Readers Award nominees are recommended for teens in grades 9 - 12. Readers should be advised that this recommendation is based on maturity level, not reading level.
- 3:00 PM - Teen Manga & Anime Club
For teens in grades 6-12 We discuss current manga reads, have guest speakers, play games, or work on our own manga creations. Most months, we also watch at least one episode of an anime. We also have snacks. No registration needed.
Got headphones? Check out the newest audio books @ JPL!
Not an MP3 or CD player, and not software, Playaway® is the self-contained audio book. It's about the size of a credit card so Playaway® is a perfect fit for your pocket. Just plug in your heaphones and go!
You can view the current collection in the “Playaway” in the Library’s online catalog.
